New Trims Format Empowers You With Clarity
The Stevenson Vestal 2004 Price List brings new clarity to the world of trims for fine custom window and bed coverings. You will always know how we will handle a particular trim for a particular product.
Embellishment Charges for Draperies
Trims Redefined
We have clarified the circumstances in which we will either sew trim in a seam or sew trim to the face of a product. At the same time, we also tell you exactly when we will hand sew a product.
Trims with a plain lip.
Trims with decorative lip....or no lip.
Sewn in seam.
Sewn to face by hand.
The various styles of trims now appear within one of two broad categories:

“Trims with a plain lip”, which we machine-sew into the seam to hide the plain lip. This includes:
1) Various rope shaped decorative trims with lips: “rope trim”, “decorative cord”, “decorative braid”.
2) Brush fringe.
3) Bullion fringe (Note: some bullion fringes have a decorative lip—see “4)” below).

“Trims with a decorative lip or no lip”, which we either hand-sew or machine-sew onto the face to allow the whole trim to show. We hand-sew these trims to the face of
Draperies, Valance tails, Cascades and pelmets, and Quilted Bedding. Elsewhere we machine-sew. These trims include:
1) Various tassel trims: “tassel fringe”, “ball fringe”.
2) Flat trims: “flat braid”, “flat band trim”.
3) “Decorative cord without lip”.
4) Some bullion fringes that do have a decorative lip.
Bead Trim Occupies Its Own Special Category
Bead trim falls into a special category of its own. We either hand-sew or machine-sew, depending on the product. But regardless of sewing method or placement, we have established a separate price level due to the special
difficulties we encounter when we work with this unique embellishment.
