Sending Your Order to SV Successfully
Our Receiving Department team takes special care to correctly match fabrics and work orders, but a little help from you goes a long way toward preventing delays and errors to your order. Consider the following good advise.
Match Fabric Names to Expedite Your Order
We prefer receiving orders and fabric together. But if you need to send them separately then matching references help us greatly to expedite your order.
Take care to use the same fabric name or description on your work order as we will see attached to your fabric. If you drop-ship your fabric, make sure your work order has the pattern and color name or numbers that your supplier will use on their packing slip.
ID Your Fabrics and Inform Your Supplier
Always tell your supplier that drop-shipped fabrics must have not only your client’s name but also your company name. Otherwise, your fabric will usually spend some time in our Unidentified Fabric bin.
The Unidentified Bin
Unidentified Fabric
Don’t let your fabric end up here...
...like this unidentified fabric.
Send One Piece of Fabricn per Tube
This sounds simple, but you can dramatically decrease confusion and delays by sending each piece of fabric rolled onto its own cardboard tube. This goes for different fabrics as well as different pieces of the same fabric. Keep them separate and keep us straight.
Avoid Duplicate Work Orders and Avoid Delays
When you want to make a change to an order, send a note rather than a duplicate work order. This simple advice will prevent much confusion and delay to your order.
Right Way: a change order note
Wrong Way: a duplicate order.
This note helped us do our job...
...but this duplicate caused problems.
Quite often we cannot distinguish a duplicate order from a new order (even when marked “DO NOT DUPLICATE” as above). So, if you don’t want duplicate products, don’t send duplicate orders!

TIP OF THE MONTH: To communicate a change order, call your CSR with a “heads up” and then fax a simple note to your CSR’s attention.
