Getting Vertical on the Vertical Table
Workroom Tour, part 1. At Stevenson Vestal our Vertical Table assures you of consistent finished lengths for your draperies. After we sew widths of fabric together and blind-stitch the bottom hem, we run your drapery up our Vertical Table and cut and finish the top.

Did You Know? For a Pinch Pleated Drapery we attach the crinoline while the drapery hangs upside-down on the Vertical Table. For a Rod Pocket Drapery we fold the pocket and header in place at this point.

Normally, we run the drapery up the Vertical Table upside-down. However, we reverse this process and take some extra steps when you request a top-down matching of bowing plaids and checks. See the February 2005 Insight for more on this important subject.

Caring Expands and Quality Shines
Adopt-a-Classroom. Our employee-funded and managed SV Gifting Committee continued its commitment this month to our new Adopt-a-Classroom program. We chose our classroom randomly from a list of SV employee's children attending local Elementary-level public schools. In December, we presented our chosen classroom with $1000.00-worth of hands-on Science materials. This month's activity saw five SV artisans travel to our adopted third-grade classroom to help the children make 27 pillows! And they learned a bit about fractions and math in the process.

Quality Awarded. We place a high value on the quality of the products we
make at Stevenson Vestal. As we like to say,
"Everything we make is an original". At our Quarterly Company Status meeting this month, the Valance 2 Department, won the coveted Quality Award. Pictured above, left to right, you will see proud artisans Becky Tennes, Jeanette Rockwell, Sandra Wright, Kaddy Haizlip and work leader Mila Petefish.
