Adding Music to our Day and Quality to your Products
At Stevenson Vestal we believe our community involvement spills over into a caring and enthusiastic work ethic that shows up in the quality of your finished products.
Let Us Show You some recent photos of our work life and our community activities.
All of us at Stevenson Vestal wish you a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, as you prefer! In the photo below you see, left to right, receptionist Tori Geraghty, CSR Kay Frix, CS Manager Lynn Walters and CSRs Paul Serrano, Donna Quiring and Jodi Morris. Our entire Customer Service team looks forward to assisting you in the new year.
A Field Trip to Stevenson Vestal. One of our adopted classrooms recently took a field trip to visit our workroom facility. The kids enjoyed all aspects of their trip, and our employee's faces lit up to see the kids coming around to ask them innocent and candid questions. The students saw artisans at work: sewing, upholstering, cutting boards and shipping products. They talked to everyone they met and collected scrap pieces of fabric and foam as they went. They enjoyed stuffing the bits of fabric in their pockets or wrapping them around their heads like bandannas. Several of the children showed a high degree of financial savvy. For example, our SV volunteer tour guides received a flood of questions regarding their monetary compensation. One motivated third grader, upon meeting owner Dave Stevenson, said: "If you pay me $500,000.00 a year, I'll work here." Dave, who recognizes boldness and determination when he sees it, quickly quipped: "Somebody get this boy an application."

I See Her Walking, but She Keeps On Talking. Our Customer Service Representatives now have mobile headsets that free them to walk from one end of our workroom to the other and continue to talk with you on the phone. Then can even pick up your new incoming call before they get back to their desk. This new freedom of movement lets our CSRs discuss challenging issues with our Artisans and look at fabrics and work in progress while you listen in and offer your input. Below, Kay Frix takes a call at her desk and Jodi Morris solves a challenging fabric problem with Drapery Artisan Kelly Vanweest. Recently an SV employee spotted CSR Donna Quiring heating her lunch in a microwave in one of our break areas and seemingly talking to herself. OK, Donna, remember, sometimes you can have too much of a good thing!

Student Sing Their Hearts and Lungs Out. This past month we brought the tunes to our other adopted classroom. SV Publications Editor Dave Gude took a break from working on our web site and our upcoming 2006 Price List long enough to get the kids revved up with a noisy sing-along. The kids joined right in on songs that featured a hungry boa constrictor, a leatherwing bat, and their own teachers' and classmates' names. The result? A rhyming good time for all involved!

New Stevenson Vestal Installations Apprentice Installer Amir Namsi. Stevenson Vestal Installations has a new addition to its team of professional installers: Amir Namsi. We welcome Amir, who hails from Tunisia, on the southern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, opposite Sicily and Italy. Amir feels proud to call himself an American. He describes his original home modestly: "We are a small country. We are peaceful." Recently, Amir spent time in our workroom learning about our fabrication methods. Below, Sales Manager Jeff Hall compares notes with Amir about cornice construction and CSR Kay Frix offers a guided tour of our computer system. We feel confident that Amir's enthusiasm, charm, practical knowledge and initiative will propel him to success as an SVI Installer.
