Wrap It Up
Stevenson Vestal Announces New Product Specifications
Starting in September 2006, Stevenson Vestal will alter the specifications for two groups of products.

SV Drapery artisan Diane S. double wraps the heading of a Pleated Drapery at the vertical table.

Improvement for Lined Pleated Drapery Headings
We will alter our current pillowcased heading for all styles of Lined Pleated Draperies to a double wrapped heading. This quality feature prevents lining fabric showing on goblet style headings and on headings without crinoline. Also, many designers feel that double wrapping creates a more substantial heading and a fuller looking pleat. As an option, you may still request a pillowcased heading. However, if you don’t specify, we will use our new double wrapped construction method. Cuts of fabric for Lined Pleated Draperies will now require an 18” length allowance. Please allow this much additional fabric beyond your finished length for each cut (prior to rounding up for pattern repeats).

Improvement for Bottom Hem on Straight Valances
To address a shadowing issue, we will increase the seam allowance in the pillowcased hem of all valances with a straight pattern along the bottom. The new specification will state: “Bottom hem: double 2 and pillowcased.” This improvement will affect Avenue, Bellaire, Flat Soft Cornice, Hancock, Open Box Pleated, Shelbourne, Tier and Watauga. Cuts of fabric for these valances will now require an 8” length allowance. Please allow this much additional fabric beyond your finished length for each cut (prior to rounding up for pattern repeats).

NOTE: Only the straight valance portion of the Avenue, Bellaire and Watauga Valances (and not the overlays) will receive the new double 2" pillowcased bottom hem. ALSO AFFECTED by this change: Pleated and Rod Pocket Drapery Valances (for finished lengths less than 30").

The Value of Quality
At Stevenson Vestal we have set our sights on continuous innovation and improvement. We trust that you and your clients will find that these two new specifications result in noticeable improvements. We recognize that these quality features involve a moderate amount of additional fabric, but we believe your clients will find real additional value in their new Stevenson Vestal custom window coverings.

Please don’t hesitate to call your Customer Service Representative with any questions or concerns you may have.
