Nice to meet youLinda Del Giudice met Stevenson Vestal Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jim Butler and the SV Customer Service team at the recent Custom Home Furnishings Conference & Trade Show in Charlotte, NC (see our March Insight, Have You Seen Me Lately? for photos of this show) and told them a familiar story. "I operate my own workroom, but I could use some help on some larger projects from time to time" Linda stated. "Could you work with me?" We hear this same story and question many times and we respond the same way every time: "Yes, absolutely!" Lofty results A certified drapery professional, Linda Del Giudice of Home Style Fabrications in Charlotte, NC has made good use of her new relationship with Stevenson Vestal in their very first joint project together. Designer Sandra Lyke hired Linda to manage a residential project that included making and installing draperies in soaring glass spaces that frame an expansive lake view and Linda asked Stevenson Vestal to help. |

| "Just how I would have made them." Linda complimented the quality she saw in the Stevenson Vestal panels. "They were made just how I would have made them." But Linda reserved key elements of the project for herself, measuring for and constructing her own arched boards and fabricating the pelmets that go over the panels as the finishing touch. Stevenson Vestal made the 200+" panels and mounted them to Linda's arched boards. About those long panels, Linda says, "I have a 14' table, so that would have been alot of fabric to move around. I appreciate Stevenson Vestal taking on that part of the project." |

First order and help from TabithaAt Stevenson Vestal we find that special challenges exist with first orders from new customers: understanding one another, communicating clearly, establishing expectations and meeting them. Linda worked through her Stevenson Vestal CSR, Tabitha (pictured at right). "Tabitha really helped," Linda says. "She was great to work with, informative, answered my questions and helped with filling out the work orders." |

Meet the artisan, Mickey, who starting sewing when just "a bitty little thing" Special Drapery Team artisan Mickey says she enjoyed mounting the draperies for this project. "Since we had verified the long point and short point for the finished length of the angled panels," she says, "everything went smoothly." Mickey started sewing as "just a bitty little thing" at about age 5. Her mother sewed professionally, but out of her home, and got young Mickey and her sister both to help out with the "simple things" such as hand sewing hems. Now Mickey's work with the Special Drapery team at Stevenson Vestal has her doing various highly skilled (and not so simple) hand-sewing tasks such as sewing bands, trims and rings as well as tackling challenging board-mounting of draperies such as in this project. |
