Stacks of Strips
Hidden quality feature keeps everything even. The Shelbourne Valance has the traditional closed-pleat look on the front, but when viewed from the back side the pleats appear open. To even out the bulk of the varying layers of fabric across the width, we place two stacked cardboard tack-strips in the open-pleat areas.

SV Valance Artisan Marie Fleming staples stacks of cardboard tack-strips under open pleats to make up for the lack of bulk in those areas.
A second quality feature hides in plain sight...can you spot it? If you answered that you see two inches of face fabric set up along the bottom on the back side of the valance, give yourself a gold star! This location for the pillowcasing of the face fabric to the lining prevents the lining fabric from showing along the bottom edge of the valance.
