A Growing WorkforceOnly fifteen years ago Stevenson Vestal had only about thirty employees, a number that has exploded to almost triple that workforce today.
A Growing Facility
Also fifteen years ago the Stevenson Vestal workroom measured only about 50% of its square footage today, two expansions later. Dave Stevenson and Bill Vestal planned ahead for each expansion project, and the back wall of the building had intentionally been left in a "ready-for-expansion" state. Today's facility takes up the entire footprint of the available property. For the next expansion we'll have to build up!
Growing DeliveriesFree delivery to various regions of our customer base also began at the start of the "Dave and Bill Era" 21 years ago. Up until 1994 a single panel van provided service to several NC regions. Today we operate a fleet of trucks with friendly and experienced Couriers delivering products and picking up fabrics on 7 routes covering large swaths of the Mid-Atlantic Eastern United States. A addition of a new truck coming very soon will allow further expansion.
Turnkey Assistance
Our team in the Stevenson Vestal Turnkey Division can provide site measurements, blueprint analysis, scale drawings of your rough sketches, order fabrics, trims and hardware for you and generally take the headache out of your largest and most complex projects.
Turnkey RecordWe have a track record of successful turnkey projects in four-star hotels, country clubs, active adult communities, model homes and luxury residences from West Palm Beach Florida to Westchester County New York and beyond.
Turnkey Wisdom
Our current Turnkey Division began at the very start of Dave Stevenson and Bill Vestal's ownership of the company 21 years ago with Bill Vestal taking on "commercial" projects. Bill handed that responsibility down to others after a few years. But the accumulated wisdom of Bill and other key people here supports today's Stevenson Vestal Turnkey Division.
Installation Services for DC Metro (for now)Our Stevenson Vestal Installations team serves the greater DC Metro area with top-notch measuring and installing services. These services have proven so popular in the areas we offer them that we have begun plans to expand this program to include more of our customers. In fact, we believe so strongly in the critical importance of the installer and the professional installation of our fine custom window and bed coverings that someday we'd like to see every one of our customers provided with this service.
Quick Estimates
Our Customer Service team keeps track of their response time for complete estimates for custom products. On the average, they consistently return completed estimates either the same day they receive them or the following day.
Years and Years of Service...and we've got the Plaques to Prove ItWe feel very enthusiastic about lots of things at Stevenson Vestal, especially our artisan's years of service. We celebrate our low turn-over with service awards. We have lots of names on the 5, 10, 15 and (can you believe it?) even 20 year plaques! Our consistent and stable workforce of dedicated artisans makes Stevenson Vestal a company you can rely on.
Our Enthusiasm translates to Quality
In 2004 our Stevenson Vestal Gifting Committee (SVGC) assumed responsibility for charitable activities that has taken place informally at Stevenson Vestal for many years.
This employee-funded and operated group sponsors many local charities and our own Adopt-a-Classroom program. When we send artisans out to one of our adopted classrooms to share a talent or skill with the students they always return bubbling over with enthusiasm about their experience. Bill Vestal says, "The enthusiasm is contagious, and really gets a lot of people talking and excited." We believe this enthusiasm shows up in the quality our artisans put into your custom products.Stevenson Vestal burst out of the mold of a small drapery workroom in the 1980s to become today's wide-reaching provider of artisan, installation and turnkey services by combining the best of old world artisanship with modern systems and technology.
