1960 Pete and Betty Smith open Smith Draperies as a retail drapery shop.

1971 The Smiths add wholesale manufacturing to their existing retail business.

1985 Dave Stevenson and Bill Vestal purchase Smith Draperies from the Smiths.

1987 The new owners cease retail operations in order to focus on "to the trade only" wholesale business.

1990 Dave and Bill build our modern manufacturing facility and change the company name to Stevenson Vestal. The expansive facility allows for efficient production, training and apprenticeship. Approximately 35 artisans and staff move into the pristine new building.

2000 An expanding customer base creates the need for more space, and an addition to the facility increases the workroom area by 50% to 22,500 square feet.

2004 A second addition to the facility increases the workroom area by 33% to 30,000 square feet. Artisans and staff now include about 85 dedicated workers.
