Beyond Functionality

With its primary purpose to hide box springs and/or bed frames, a Shirred Dust Ruffle transcends mere functionality. It acts as a visual bridge, softening the transition between the bed and the floor. Here, it also serves to lighten the visual weight of the dark wrought iron bed frame, creating a sense of balance and airiness. Designer Missy Maloney states, "My client loves it."

Designer: Missy Maloney, Ethan Allen-Knoxville TN

This bedroom features a traditional and botanical-inspired design characterized by soft patterns, layered textiles, and classic furniture.
The bed is dressed in layers, including a white quilted base, a botanical paisley-print coverlet, and an assortment of pillows in blue-grey, geometric, and floral patterns.
