Embracing the Architecture

This bedroom presents a fascinating design challenge: How to work with distinct architectural features like arched alcoves. The answer, as seen here, is a masterful blend of arched Seaforth Valances and Pinch Pleated Two Prong Draperies, creating a dramatic and cohesive window treatment that transforms the space.

Bringing this vision to life was a true collaboration between CSR, designer, installer, and our woodshop team. Once measurements were finalized, we were able to program our Gerber router to craft precisely shaped arches—ensuring the valances fit seamlessly within the alcoves and became a standout feature in the room. Designer Kimberleigh states, "Everything fit perfectly, Great job everyone."

Designer: Kimberleigh Boswell, Color Wheel, McLean VA

Two of the windows are set within deep, arched wall recesses, decorated with patterned drapery and custom valances tailored to fit the architectural alcoves.
The windows are dressed with floor-length, navy and white geometric-patterned draperies that provide a strong contrast against the solid blue-grey walls.
A matching patterned draperies and custom valance is used on a larger scale along the left wall, unifying the lounge and sleeping areas.
