Drapery Stackback

Have you ever wondered how much of your window will be exposed after pushing back your draperies?

Watch our video below to get a better understanding about drapery stackback.

Drapery stackback can have a huge impact on your design!

design by Nazee Fakharifar with Ethan Allen Tysons

For standard pleated drapery panels on a traversing rod, our "one inch per pleat + overlap measurement" formula will give you a measurement for the absolute furthest back you can open up your drapery to expose your window.

For thicker linings, or draperies that will not be pushed back as tightly, we recommend estimating with a slightly different formula, at 2" per pleat + the overlap measurement, for a stackback that is more loose.

The overlap is an important figure in the above stackback formula, so if you haven't already, learn more about the overlap measurement in another one of our videos linked below (skip to the 1:47 timestamp to focus on the term overlap, defined)

No matter what drapery style you choose, we love bringing your designs to life! Find more of our finished drapery projects HERE.
