When & What to hand sew!

As a customer-owned-material workroom, we LOVE all of the different fabrics we get to work with for your projects!

Certain fabrics, however, do not pair well with our sewing machines for draperies, so they must be hand-sewn.

Click the play button below to watch our video and  learn more on what fabrics should be hand sewn.

The additional attention to detail required for a hand-sewn drapery makes for a BEAUTIFUL finished product!

Featured fabrics requiring hand-sewing for draperies include...

Textured beige fabric with a subtle grid pattern.

Fabrics with Sequins,

Tan interlocking oval pattern with scenario studs on a dark blue background.

Studs

Velvet,

and certain casement fabrics.

At Stevenson Vestal, we bring your custom window treatment and bedding designs to life.

Serving designers and workrooms across the US since 1985, every project is special and one of a kind. We can't wait to discuss your next project!
